With the estimated participation of more than 400 specialists, this meeting consolidates itself as the most important main space for scientific exchange in communication in Spain, open also to the international academic community.
Communicating in Uncertainty
The initiative “Communicating in uncertainty.” addresses how communication -in all its fields- faces the challenge of acting in a world characterized by an uncertainty that is no longer circumstantial, but structural. This uncertainty is generated by complex crises such as health problems, global conflicts, accelerated technological changes, climate emergencies, economic instability and disinformation phenomena. In this context, communicating not only involves adapting to changing environments, but also assuming a ethical and cultural responsibility to offer meaningful, transparent and contrasted stories, capable of building meaning, social cohesion, trust and collective resilience in the face of the noise and volatility of the present.
The proposed approach explores how this uncertainty is reflected and managed from different perspectives of communication, including media, advertising, digital narratives, institutional communication, media education and academic research. The goal is to rethink communicative practices in a critical and interdisciplinary way, seeking ways to strengthen trust, generate social agency and articulate communities capable of facing the ambiguity and unpredictability of the contemporary environment.
